Introducing an innovative approach to long term emotional health: group stress acupuncture combines the ancient healing modality of acupuncture with the power of group dynamics to provide a unique and effective way to reduce stress, address emotional imbalances, while learning valuable stress management techniques.
A Holistic Approach to Stress Management and Emotional Healing
Over the past decade of practicing acupuncture across three states, I have observed that stress, particularly chronic stress, plays a significant role in many chronic, and even acute, ailments.

Chronic stress manifests in numerous ways:

elevated blood pressure

and many other issues

And stress is closely interconnected with various other aspects of emotional well-being. In our culture, stress often goes hand in hand with anxiety and depression. Trauma doesn't always stem from a single significant event; it can result from a series of smaller incidents or events that might seem inconsequential to others but profoundly impact us. It is often easier to cope with these uncomfortable emotions through distraction or substitution, but we rarely find true healing this way.
Many stress management and emotional healing techniques are freely available, but unfortunately the discipline to practice them is often lacking in those who are exhausted by chronic stress, can't focus because of high anxiety levels, or have a difficult time finding motivation.
And while acupuncture is an excellent modality to begin to release physical, mental, and emotional stress, as well as address emotional health, long lasting relief can take time and be financially-prohibitive.

Community style of acupuncture is one great way to address chronic stress and its effects, but it is not available in all areas. Furthermore, vital supplementary stress-relief lifestyle practices and methods like movement and breathing techniques are not typically integrated into a community acupuncture setting.
I am thrilled to offer a new service designed to address all of these obstacles.
Group stress acupuncture takes place in a group setting over several weeks. In an office setting, chairs can be used, or in a yoga studio, yoga mats with blankets offer a comfortable session.
Prior to the treatment, I will offer stress management techniques, as well as breathing exercises. Engaging these practices over a few weeks instills a sense of familiarity with these methods making them easier to sustain over the longer-term.
Then, an acupuncture protocol designed to address stress and emotional well-being will be administered. Each treatment always incorporates ear acupuncture, with additional points thoughtfully selected from regions below the elbows, below the knees, and on the head.
